Pat is the Managing Shareholder and co-founder of Beaird Harris & Co., P.C. He received his degree in accounting from Texas A&M University in 1984 and has practiced as a Certified Public Accountant for over 25 years. Pat is also licensed as a Personal Financial Specialist (PFS), which is the highest financial planning designation awarded by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
With extensive experience in complex tax matters and a background in advanced estate planning, Pat works with closely-held businesses and high net worth individuals, with a particular emphasis in health care. He was instrumental in building the Firm's specialty niche in the healthcare community, serving a variety of different specialties in both medicine and dentistry. Pat combines his extensive background in tax with a strong resume in wealth management to help clients structure their business and personal lives for the objective of achieving and maintaining financial independence. Pat has been quoted in several publications including The Boston Globe, The Chicago Tribune, CBS Marketwatch and Morningstar.com, among others.
Pat is a member of the Financial Planning Association, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Texas Society of CPA’s.
Don co-founded Beaird Harris & Co., P.C., a Certified Public Accounting firm in 1988. As a principal of Beaird Harris Wealth Management, Inc., Don specializes in wealth management strategies for high net worth individuals, including asset protection, estate planning, charitable giving, and family wealth counseling. He also provides tax and business consulting. Don has worked in public accounting since 1976. Don was a senior audit manager with Arthur Andersen when he left to establish a local public accounting practice in 1986.
Don is a 1976 graduate of Abilene Christian University. He is a licensed Investment Advisory Representative and a member of the National Association of Family Wealth Counselors. Don is also a member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Texas Society of CPA's.
Paula joined Beaird Harris in 1991 and became a shareholder in 2002. She works extensively with start-up companies and small businesses, specializing in working with physicians, dentists, attorneys, franchises, and sales companies. Paula is active in our wealth management business and has a passion for helping our clients achieve financial independence. With her extensive tax background, she works to merge financial planning goals with integrated tax strategies to achieve maximum financial results and tax savings. Paula also oversees the Firm’s internship program and staff hiring and takes great pride in finding and retaining great Beaird Harris team members.
Paula is a 1992 graduate of Texas A&M University and became a CPA in 1994. She is a licensed Investment Advisory Representative, as well as a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Texas Society of CPA’s. She is also an active volunteer and serves on her church finance board of directors.
Ron joined Beaird Harris in 1988 and became a shareholder in 2002. He has played a prominent role in the success of the Firm’s tax practice and small business consulting services. Ron is a senior tax manager specializing in technology companies, the oil & gas industry, and estate and trust taxation. He is a licensed Investment Advisory Representative who specializes in research and industry developments.
Ron is a 1987 graduate of the University of Texas at Arlington and has been a CPA since 1989. He is a member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Texas Society of CPA’s. Prior to entering public accounting, Ron served in the United States Air Force where he was stationed at the Air Force Academy and worked in the finance and accounting office.
Jon joined Beaird Harris in December of 1988 and established the Beaird Harris accounting system consulting practice for small businesses. With a strong technical background in both financial accounting and information technology, he is able to bring a unique perspective when he assists small businesses in establishing their internal accounting systems. Jon has been using the QuickBooks accounting package since it was introduced in the early 1990’s. He also works on special projects for clients, such as acting as an interim CFO, establishing pro-forma financial statements for start up companies and training a company’s existing internal accounting staff to help them become more efficient. Jon became a shareholder in 2002.
Jon is a 1991 graduate of the University of North Texas, earning both a B.S. and M.S. in Accounting and a specialization in Audit. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Texas Society of CPAs, Beta Gamma Sigma, and the QuickBooks Certified Professional Advisors Program.
Deanne joined Beaird Harris in 1996 and became a shareholder in 2006. Deanne is a senior tax manager working in the areas of individual, corporate, and shareholdership tax, as well as financial statement compilation. She specializes in working with clients that have multiple entities and filing requirements. She also coordinates and supervises workflow and staff for the Firm.
Deanne is a graduate of the University of North Texas where she received her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in accounting and taxation. She became a CPA in 2000 and is a member of American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Texas Society of CPA’s.
Kristen joined Beaird Harris in 1998 and became a shareholder in 2009. She works with startup-companies, small businesses, and high net worth individuals. Kristen specializes in providing tax and consulting services to physicians, dentists, restaurateurs and foreign nationals living in the US. She also oversees the Firm's document management and workflow systems.
Kristen is a 1998 graduate of Texas A&M University and became a CPA in 1999. She is a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor®, a member of the American Institute of Public Accountants, Texas Society of CPA's, and serves as Treasurer on the board of directors for the Junior Players Guild.
Denise joined Beaird Harris in 1995. She served as the team leader for Don Harris' practice group, specializing in individual, partnership, trust, estate, and shareholder taxation, until she entered law school in 2006. She continued to serve many of Don Harris' clients until graduating from law school in 2009. Denise currently provides tax assistance in these areas as well as legal expertise in the areas of tax law and wills and trust law.
Denise graduated with a BBA in Accounting from Texas A&M University in 1996 and became a CPA in 1998. In 2009, she received a Juris Doctor degree cum laude from the Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law. During law school, Denise served as Managing Editor of the Journal of Air Law and Commerce published by the SMU Law Review Association, performed a legal clerkship in International Law with a Big 4 Accounting firm, and worked as a research assistant to SMU Professor Joshua C. Tate in the area of wills and trust law. Denise was admitted to the Texas State Bar in 2009 and is a member of the American Association of Attorney-Certified Public Accountants, Dallas Bar Association, Dallas Estate Planning Council, and American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Kate joined Beaird Harris in 2000. She specializes in full-service accounting for larger firms, including preparation of financial statements, payroll reports, and Federal and state taxes. She has over ten years experience with QuickBooks.
Kate received her B.B.A. in Accounting from Texas A&M University in 1997, graduating Summa Cum Laude. She became a CPA in 2000 and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Texas Society of CPA's.
Kristy joined Beaird Harris in 2004. She works extensively in the areas of corporate, individual, and shareholdership taxation. She is also involved in financial statement compilation, payroll tax report preparation, and QuickBooks consultation.
Kristy graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Texas at Dallas in 2000 and became a CPA in 2003. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Oklahoma Society of CPA’s.
Derek joined Beaird Harris in 2001 and is the team leader for Don Harris’ practice group. He specializes in the areas of individual, corporate, and shareholdership tax. Derek is also responsible for coordinating workflow, supervising team members, and training team members.
Derek graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Texas at Dallas in 2003, earning both his B.S. and M.S. in Accounting and Information Systems.
Genny joined Beaird Harris in 2009. Prior to joining the Firm, Genny spent five years working with a local public accounting firm and two years with a Big 4 firm in Dallas. Genny specializes in providing tax compliance and consulting services to individual, partnership, and corporate clients. She has specialized experience in healthcare professionals, real estate, oil and gas, and entrepreneurs.
Genny is a 2004 graduate of the University of North Texas, she received a BS in Accounting Control Systems and her CPA license in February of 2010. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Texas Society of CPAs.
Julia joined Beaird Harris in 2007 after three years with a large public accounting firm in the Detroit metropolitan area. She is a tax associate who provides tax and QuickBooks consulting services to individual and business clients with a concentration on clients with dental practices. She also specializes in the taxation of estates, trusts and nonprofit organizations.
Julia received her BBA in Accounting in 2004 from Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Michigan. She is currently pursuing her Master’s Degree in Accounting and Information Systems from the University of Texas at Dallas. She is a Certified Quickbooks ProAdvisor® and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Texas Society of CPA’s.
Amanda joined Beaird Harris in 2008 after gaining two years of public accounting experience in Austin, TX. As a CPA, Amanda provides a variety of services including the preparation of individual, corporate, and shareholdership tax returns.
A graduate from Abilene Christian University , Amanda received a BBA in Accounting (2005), a Masters of Accounting (2006), and her CPA in 2007. She is a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor® and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Texas Society of CPA's.
Justin joined Beaird Harris in 2006. He specializes in providing tax services to individuals, entrepreneurs and healthcare professionals. He is also the Firm's spokesperson for college recruiting events and is involved with intern training and mentoring.
Justin graduated from The University of Oklahoma with a Bachelors of Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting. Justin received his CPA license in January of 2008 and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Texas Society of CPA's
Abbie joined Beaird Harris in 2008. Her responsibilities include preparation of individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns, as well as payroll tax reports.
Abbie is a 2008 graduate of the University of Oklahoma, from which she holds a BBA in accounting with a minor in finance, as well as a Master of Accountancy. She became a CPA in 2010. Abbie is a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor® and a member of the Texas Society of CPAs.
Christie joined Beaird Harris in 2007. Her responsibilities include preparation of individual, partnership, and corporate tax returns as well as preparation of payroll tax reports.
Christie graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Texas at Dallas in 2009, earning a B.S. in Accounting and Information Systems.
Tori joined Beaird Harris in 2008 as a tax associate; her responsibilities include tax preparation and tax planning for various clients. Prior to joining the Firm, Tori spent three years in the financial and banking industry in a managerial role.
Tori holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (2004) from Southern Methodist University and received a Masters in Business Administration in 2009. She is a member of Texas Society of CPA’s.
Chris joined Beaird Harris in 2009. His responsibilities include income tax return preparation.
Chris is a 2007 graduate of the University of North Texas, where he earned a BBA with a concentration in Finance and Real Estate. He is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Accounting with a concentration in Taxation.
Wendy Melamed joined Beaird Harris & Co, PC in 2005. She is a certified QuickBooks Pro Advisor providing hands-on QuickBooks training for new clients and existing clients. Her other responsibilities include providing quarterly payroll reports for clients as well as quarterly financial statements.
She attended the University of Missouri and has worked in the accounting and bookkeeping fields for over 20 years.
Clint Dunn joined Beaird Harris in 2007. He serves a dual role as the Marketing and Recruitment Coordinator for both Beaird Harris and Beaird Harris Wealth Management, Inc. His responsibilities include coordination of all advertising, sponsorship and recruiting opportunities. He oversees the Firm's websites, databases and a variety of other marketing, public relations and communication projects.
A 2007 graduate of the University of North Texas (UNT), Clint earned a BBA in Marketing with emphasis in Branding and a certificate in New Product Development. He is currently pursuing his CFP® certification at Southern Methodist University (SMU).
Diane Merrill joined Beaird Harris in 2003 as the Office Manager. She also serves as the Executive Assistant to the principals of the Firm. Her responsibilities include all functions associated with the operation of the front office including answering the switchboard, scheduling client meetings and managing human resources for the Firm.
Diane attended Richland and Eastfield Community Colleges and has worked in the administrative and human resource fields for over twenty five years.
Shirl Page joined Beaird Harris in 2006. Shirl provides internal administrative support and attends to the Firm's day-to-day office needs. She is involved in managing workflow, providing support to other team members, managing special projects, and processing tax returns.
Shirl received a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Texas at Tyler in 1995. Prior to joining Beaird Harris, she worked as an administrative assistant and taught second grade for nine years.
Joy joined Beaird Harris in January of 2005. She performs a myriad of duties and some of her responsibilities include scanning and uploading documents, maintaining the archived files, and e-filing client tax returns. She works closely with all members of Beaird Harris and plays an instrumental part in managing the Firm’s paperless system.
Prior to joining Beaird Harris, Joy served many years in a secretarial capacity. She also attended Tulsa Community College where she studied Psychology and Ethics.
