Dallas, TX (September 20, 2017) – Ginnie Baker, a Certified Financial PlannerTM practitioner with Beaird Harris Wealth Management, a Dallas-based, independent fee-only wealth management firm, has been awarded the 2017 Young Guns Award by the Dallas-Fort Worth chapter of the Financial Planning Association.
The Dallas-Fort Worth chapter of the Financial Planning Association is one of the top 10 chapters in the country and is part of the National FPA Alliance Forum. The Young Guns Award originated in 2009 and is presented to one up-and-coming individual (age 36 and under) who has made significant contributions to the financial planning industry, the FPA organization, and community through their work in financial planning.
Baker relocated to Dallas in August of 2015 and has been a trailblazer within the Dallas-Fort Worth chapter of the Financial Planning Association. Transferring her membership from her Metro DC chapter, she quickly became an active member in the association. She’s made significant contribution within the chapter as the Career Day Committee Chair and within the NexGen program as the NexGen Director. She currently serves on the 2017 Board of Directors. Each of these activities require a significant time commitment, understanding of the financial planning profession, networking skills and a servant leader mentality.
“We are thrilled that Ginnie has been recognized as an up-and-coming individual within the financial planning industry,” said Steve Lugar, Managing Director of Beaird Harris Wealth Management. “Ginnie’s goal is to develop strong relationships with her clients. She genuinely cares for people and focuses on making the complexities of financial planning clear and simple. Ginnie is absolutely a Young Gun and we’re proud of her accomplishments and honored to have her on our team at Beaird Harris.”
Baker is a Certified Financial PlannerTM practitioner at Beaird Harris. She works with financially established individuals with a particular emphasis in the healthcare industry. She guides clients through financial decisions, educating them about their investments, insurance policies and employee benefits, and works with clients to coordinate, implements and monitor their financial plans. She’s made significant contributions on our Client Experience and Financial Planning Teams and is now leading our New Doctor Program.
Baker earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in General Business and Masters of Science degree in Personal Financial Planning from Texas Tech University. While at Texas Tech she was involved in the Personal Financial Planning Association and Volunteer Income Tax Preparation (“VITA”), where she assisted with tax preparation for low income individuals and their families. Ginnie remains actively involved at Texas Tech and has been both a member and facilitator of Texas Tech’s Personal Financial Planning Alumni Panel.
